Sunday 30th Mick, Barry and Graham - we went looking for the plaque - which as you can see, we found!
Sunday 9th August Another long training day for Simon & Graham. Phil had assistance from Bazza. Simon doing Dive planning, Navigation, Assistant dive manager & then Distance line. PHEW! Graham doing Depth progression & Distance line. The highlight of the day was the ceremonial sinking of Barry’s Brilliant club plaque mounted on a crafted concrete base. For those who would like to see its location, don’t ask us as we don’t know, the vis was that bad that we couldn’t find it again. Now there’s a challenge.
2nd August
26 July
19th July A long day of sports diver rescue skill’s with a complete rescue in the afternoon for Bob, Graham & Simon. I had assistance from Mick & Dave. During the surface interval however, the lads got a treat by giving little Anne some lip lock in the woods & Dave got high on oxygen.
11th July Two divers managed two dives. The first to 1.6meters and the second to 3.0meters. The water was well coloured, but we did see plenty of fish and collected some more golf balls.
4th July Three had a fun day at this regular spot. Three items were lost! Barry the surface marker buoy and a map. Ask Phil about the map!!!!!!! I blame the Bee. Barry appears to have lost something as well!!!!
27th June Three managed to get to 2.6 meters. Up stream for last weeks dive. The bottom was rock but covered with a film of silt, which was soon stirred up. A few golf balls and a trinket were recovered. We then went back down stream and collected some more golf balls. A total of 50 over the two visits.
21st June Two managed a very deep dive in the Wharfe. Max depth 1.6 meters. Plenty of golf balls, fish, Cray fish and a 2 pence coin. Great fun. No need for fins. Just hang on to the rocks! The viz was about 3 meters. Both divers got themselves a new pair of sun glasses! An interesting dive, even at the shallow depth. The currents were interesting, but by no means worrying. May be different if there had been lots of rain. Good fun and I recommend it. Entry is easy. Park just by the foot bridge near the nice little garden centre.
7 June
30th May Two made the most of the very fine weather to visit this favourite location. Just out for a bit of fun in the sun and the warm water.
8 / 9 / 10 May Diving from the charter boat TOPLINE. Viz ranging from 2 - 4 meters and the water at about 7 - 8 C. A great weekend with only one near death experience. Not diving related, but concerning an apple and lattice tart. The fridge was over flowing with milk and the bin was over flowing with empty beer bottles. Apart from the one Phil sent flying across the kitchen floor. There was a mysterious case of the vanishing glasses. Not to mention the 10 minuet dive on a 3 litre pony. With some sports diver lectures done its all home for a rest. Nearly forgot. Phil was seen proudly displaying his plums!
26April Capernwray Barry and Simon ventured out for some diving fun.
25April Capernwray What a nice day out. The sun way out for most of the day. Two practised some DSMB work at the same time Paul tried out his "sawn of twin set" Phil took Bob for his first open water dive.
Capernwray Will he get there before the shutter goes?
5th April Capernwray Four made the trip on Sunday for a bit of fun.
4th April Capernwray Two made a dip into the tropical waters. A warm 9c and the viz on the first dive was very good. First dive of the year for these two and out practicing DSMB deployment. Interesting!!!!!!!!!!!
Annual Dinner
21st March
Three ice cool men at Capernwray
14th March Builders from hell!!!!!!!
An excursion with a difference. 7 club members did some demolition, brick
cleaning, carpentry, brick laying and other building related tasks. All to
help make life better for Jack and Laura. If you look carefully, you can see where the sun shines!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only diving done that day was by the frogs
8th March Three mad souls braved the cold and dived Capernwray. Fifteen minuets in the water was all it took for the fingers to get COLD
